My work provides evidence based solutions to some of the global challenges (example: antibiotic resistance). It tells us what is good and what is bad if you use antibiotics disproportionately and what the consequences of it can be. It is estimated that antibiotic resistance will kill 10 million people by 2050 and cost the global economy 100 trillion pounds.

We are working on a bunch of different early stage drug discovery projects at the moment, some of which will hopefully result in reduction in antibiotic resistance and better treatments of infectious disease. We work with a bunch of different pharmaceutical companies and small biotechs which have amazing ideas to help combat bacterial infections, which may link in to Bruno’s works in the years to come. 🙂

I’m currently working on understanding how microbiology education has changed over the years and I think that the more people understand about the infectious in the world now, the more we can help to prevent large groups of people getting ill.
