We desperately need new antibiotics and my PhD supervisor (who’s grandmother was cured by penicillin obtained from Alexander Fleming himself) said that the person who discovers a new class of antibiotic is going to win the Nobel prize…who knows it might be you 😀
I agree with Bruno, right now we need new antibiotics really badly. We havent discovered a completley new group of antibiotics since the 1980s and now a lot of bugs are finding ways to surivive the medicines we do have.
I also agree with Bruno that new antibiotics are in desperate needs. It would be great it we could use preexisting data we have on different bacterial pathways to find new targets that will treat AMR.
