Parastratiosphecomyia stratiosphecomyioides….just joking..its actually one of the longest scientific names…its a species of fly…for anything the name is divided into 2 parts 1=genus, 2=species. eg: I named one as Campylobacter (spiral shaped) devanae (old name for Aberdeen) which means that I cultured this organism from Aberdeen. If I want I can call is Campylobacter lopesii (after me) but usually people who have done a lot of work on a particular organism are given that honour. example: Salmonella typhi (named after Daniel Elmer Salmon, a veterinary pathologist from USA).
